a 4.5lb. frame is more than acceptable for one person............right? steve.

True. I've been looking around and there are lighter tandems. Still, Spirit road tubing is not "approved" for this application. I'm still leaning towards adding another lateral to the stoker's trapezoid. I'll forward a picture of Dave Bohm's design. He says it's 5lbs !!!

damn, man - it seems like you are kicking it out! great work, steve.

Nah, I don't have to bend any tubes and all the main tubes but one were full length, so it went along pretty quickly. ;>)

Dave, looks great, keep it coming. Would your second set of stays come off of the front seat lug? Get some close ups if you can.
Craig,
I don't know yet. It may end up with large braces similar to a disc caliper strut between the stays.

Dave,

I'm curious as to why the chain stays are rotated 90 degrees. What will you do about the clearance for the tire?

DW

Don, I want the flat side facing up for reasons that will be revealed as the work proceeds. BTW, the tire cross section is only 19mm so I'll have ample clearance, plus the stays are 445mm in length! They are close at the BB to provide additional rigidity to the BB.
